Bowen Coking Coal Limited (ASX : BCB) is a Queensland based coking coal exploration and development company with a portfolio of advanced coking coal projects.

The Company holds the Cooroorah, Isaac River, Hillalong and Comet Ridge Coking Coal Projects, all located in the world renowned Bowen basin in Queensland, Australia. In addition, BCB is a joint venture partner in the Lilyvale (15% interest) and Mackenzie (5% interest) Coking Coal Projects with Stanmore Coal Limited (ASX: SMR).

The highly experienced Board and management aim to generate significant shareholder returns by combining their experience in the coal industry with the inherent value of BCB’s excellent coking coal portfolio. This may include developing the assets into profitable coal mines, agreeing strategic partnerships with global industry participants, asset disposals, or a combination thereof.

An aggressive two-year exploration and development program, commencing with the maiden drill program at the Cooroorah Project and including maiden resource definitions for Isaac River and Hillalong, underpins the Company’s initial business strategy.

(MDL - 453, 100%)
Cooroorah is located directly down dip of Wesfarmers’ Curragh mine and MDL162 and is targeting the Aries, Castor, Pollux and Pisces seams from the Rangal coal measures as mined by Curragh and the abutting Jellinbah mine. The Project has a 125Mt JORC resource which can be mined as an unwashed PCI product, or washed as a coking coal with secondary PCI or low ash thermal coal.

(EPC 1824, 100%)
Hillalong is located proximate to Rio Tinto’s Hail Creek Mine and Elphinstone Project in the Northern Bowen basin. The Project hosts the Hynds seam in the Rangal Coal Measures which has demonstrated the ability to yield a high quality coking coal in the region.

Isaac River

(MDL 444 and EPC 830)
The Project covers an area of 14 km2 and is located in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, approximately 30 km west of Moranbah and 130 km southwest of Mackay.  BHP Mitsubishi Alliance’s (“BMA”) Daunia Mine is located to the immediate west, and Peabody’s Moorvale West resource is located to the immediate north of the Project. EPC 830 occurs south of MDL 444 and abuts Peabody’s Olive Downs North Project (subject to a transaction with Pembroke Resources) and is approximately 3km North of Rio Tinto’s Winchester South project. Isaac River is well located relative to regional infrastructure with the Peak Downs Highway located 12km north and the Goonyella rail system within 3km.

Comet Ridge

(EPC 1230, MLA 700005, 100%)
Comet Ridge is an advanced, shallow open pit project with a 57Mt JORC Resource shallower than 50 meters. The Project has received Environmental approval in August 2016 and has an advanced Mine License Application to extract coal from the Triumph and Fairhill seams in the Fairhill measures. Comet Ridge is well positioned in terms of infrastructure and potential synergies with other projects.

Joint Venture

(BCC 15%, Stanmore Coal 85%)
The Project hosts a 33Mt JORC Resource in the sought after German Creek seam which is mined at the neighboring Kestrel Mine (Rio Tinto) and proximate Gregory Crinum Mine (BHP/Mitsubishi Alliance). Previous exploration confirmed the potential to produce a high yielding coking coal and further upside potential to increase the size of the Resource.

Joint Venture

(BCC 5%, Stanmore Coal 95%)
The Project is abutting Ensham mine and is targeting shallow coking coal from the Burngrove Measures. Previous exploration results will be converted into a 2012 JORC compliant Resource, with further upside identified from the occurrence of shallow coal in the Fairhill Measures found in the East of the tenement.
